Why the Church Exists

The church exists to glorify God. Everything we do is ultimately for His honor and glory.

“For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever.”
Romans 11:36

At Ridgemont Baptist Church, our mission is:

“Our mission is to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to grow in relationship with God and with others.”

Worship God

Worship is our loving response to who God is and what He has done.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
Matthew 22:37

Reach People

Jesus commanded His followers to make disciples and proclaim the gospel.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”
Matthew 28:19

Grow Together

God desires believers to mature in their faith through His Word, prayer, fellowship, and service.

“Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
2 Peter 3:18

Serve Others

God has gifted every believer for ministry. Every member has a place to serve, and every act of service matters.

“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another.”
1 Peter 4:10

Worshiping God in Spirit and Truth

Worship is not merely attending church. It is offering our lives to God.

“The true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth.”
John 4:23

Worship Through Singing

Music helps God’s people praise Him and proclaim His truth. Our desire is for music that exalts God, teaches biblical truth, encourages participation, and prepares hearts to receive God’s Word.

Worship Through Prayer

Prayer expresses our dependence upon God. Through prayer we praise God, confess sin, bring requests before Him, intercede for others, and seek His will.

Worship Through Giving

Giving is an act of worship and gratitude. Through giving, we support ministry, missions, outreach, and the proclamation of the gospel.

“God loves a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:7

Worship Through God’s Word

The preaching of Scripture is central to worship. God uses His Word to teach, correct, encourage, and transform His people.

“Preach the word!”
2 Timothy 4:2
Key Truth: The church exists to glorify God through worship, evangelism, discipleship, and service. Worship is not something we merely attend—it is a life devoted to Christ.
