Becoming Family
Church Membership, Next Steps, and the Membership Covenant
Why Membership Matters
Church membership is more than placing your name on a roll. It is a commitment to Christ and His people.
The Christian life was never intended to be lived alone. God designed His church to be a family where believers worship, grow, serve, and encourage one another.
Acts 2:42
Christ Loves His Church
Jesus purchased His church with His own blood. Because Christ loves His church, we should love His church as well.
Ephesians 5:25
Membership is not about finding a perfect church. It is about faithfully serving Christ alongside imperfect people who are growing together in grace.
Why Membership Is Important
Membership provides:
- Identification — a public commitment to a local body of believers.
- Fellowship — relationships that encourage and strengthen us.
- Accountability — support and encouragement to remain faithful.
- Service — opportunities to use our gifts for God’s glory.
- Mission — partnership in reaching others with the gospel.
